This school wrote a book to raise money

Baboons on Balloons was written by Pt Chevalier student Elodie Gibbs, 8, and illustrated by all 671 students.

Pt Chevalier Primary School principal Stephen Lethbridge says students have become illustrators, designers, marketers, sales people, presenters and press release writers all flowing out of this unique learning endeavour.

“It’s a great book made with great minds. Reading this book will really brighten up your day. The students have put their heart and soul into it,” Mr Lethbridge says.

The school is launching it at a public event at the school on October 23 at 6pm. All proceeds from book sales will go towards the school.

Balloons on Baboons is a heart-warming tale about resilience, starting with a bunny who is stung by a bee’s teasing.

“This is a very special story not just because it has vibrant collage illustrations and has rhythm and rhyme to engage even the most reluctant of readers, but because it gently encourages a very important message of resilience,” says Mr Lethbridge.
