Louise Upston described OneSchool Global Hamilton campus as "the best school I have ever stepped foot in" during her visit

Staff and students of OneSchool Global (OSG) have welcomed MP for Taupō Hon. Louise Upston to officially open its newly refurbished Hamilton campus.

As part of the extensive refurbishment, the campus has progressively introduced new facilities for its 113 students across Years 3 to 13, including a senior learning centre in use since mid-2025, and a junior learning centre and gymnasium opened at the start of the 2026 school year.

In visiting the campus, the MP shared how impressed she was with the campus facilities.

“This is my 18th year in Parliament, and I have been fortunate to visit many wonderful schools. This  is the best school I have ever stepped foot in,” she said.

“The foresight, dedication and commitment from the school community have helped to produce a  campus to be proud of.

“Walking around the campus, it is an environment unlike any other I have seen in a school. It is setup up to prepare students not only for today, but to be incredible New Zealanders in the future.”

OSG Regional Principal, Olivia Brown, said the refurbished campus represents a significant investment in the education of OneSchool Global students in the Hamilton area.

“Guided by our Learning to Learn Framework, our self-directed learning model places students at the centre of all that we do,” said Mrs Brown.

“This approach is built around exceptional learning environments that embrace technology in all  aspects of students’ educational experience.”

“The refurbishment works at Hamilton Campus are crucial for creating this environment to serve our students for years to come.

Krissy Heeps, OSG Hamilton Campus Principal, said the reopening was a proud moment for the school’s community.

“This refurbishment reflects our ongoing commitment to creating learning environments where our students and staff can thrive,” said Ms Heeps.
