<p>And this year, Auckland Museum is excited to offer FREE professional development workshops for Year 7 to Year 13 teachers. These practical, hands-on sessions introduce a new digital resource, Collections to Classroom, designed to help educators bring museum collections into the classroom to explore the big ideas, contexts, and practices of the Aotearoa New Zealand Histories curriculum.</p>
<p>Participants will have the opportunity to meet and work with the internal project team to navigate the resource, learn how taonga were selected, and uncover their histories and significance to Tāmaki Makaurau. Workshops include small-group collaboration, where teachers can plan a unit of work based on a chosen collection item to take straight into their classrooms.</p>
