Free lectures on AI in education

Free lectures on how artificial intelligence is shaping education will be available from the University of Auckland.

<h2><span data-contrast&equals;"auto">Artificial Intelligence &lpar;AI&rpar; and its impacts on our education sector will be the central focus of the annual Gibbons Memorial Lecture Series at the University of Auckland &lpar;UoA&rpar;&period;<&sol;span><span data-ccp-props&equals;"&lbrace;&rcub;"> <&sol;span><&sol;h2>&NewLine;<p><span data-contrast&equals;"auto">The four lectures will take place each consecutive Tuesday beginning 13 May&period; The series will examine the applications of AI&comma; its impacts on teaching and learning and its challenges&period;<&sol;span><span data-ccp-props&equals;"&lbrace;&rcub;"> <&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;schoolnews&period;co&period;nz&sol;latest-print-issue&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank" rel&equals;"noopener"><b>Read the latest print edition of <em>School News<&sol;em> online HERE&period;<&sol;b><&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span data-contrast&equals;"auto">Each talk is hosted by a different academic or panel&comma; and tackles subjects such as how AI can solve educational challenges&comma; the importance of AI literacy&comma; ongoing AI projects and adapting computer education in the new technology landscape&period; <&sol;span><span data-ccp-props&equals;"&lbrace;&rcub;"> <&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span data-contrast&equals;"auto">The Gibbons Memorial Lecture Series is an annual event hosted since 2008 by the School of Computer Science at UoA&comma; in memory of Associate Professor Peter Gibbons&period; He was a founding member of the department of computer science&period; <&sol;span><span data-ccp-props&equals;"&lbrace;&rcub;"> <&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span data-contrast&equals;"auto">Interested educators&comma; policy-makers or students can register to <&sol;span><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;eventbrite&period;co&period;nz&sol;e&sol;2025-gibbons-lecture-series-tickets-1138520428249" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank"><span data-contrast&equals;"none">attend here<&sol;span><&sol;a><span data-contrast&equals;"auto">&period; Livestreams of the lectures will also be available on YouTube&period; <&sol;span><span data-ccp-props&equals;"&lbrace;&rcub;"> <&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;
