Overseas teacher recruitment moves to next phase

Teachers from around the world have moved one step closer to Kiwi classrooms after the Government launched the next phase in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ahead of New Zealand’s borders opening fully on 31 July this year.

The new Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) comes into effect on Monday 4 July 2022. It is a three-step process and requires schools, kura and early learning services to become accredited in order to hire a migrant.
