<h2><span lang="EN" >The boards of Education New Zealand (ENZ) and the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) have welcomed new appointments.</span></h2>
<p><span lang="EN" >Ziena Jalil, who has a wealth of experience in international relationship management in Asia in the education and trade sectors, has been appointed to the ENZ Board. Jalil </span><span class="TextRun SCXW204128929 BCX0" data-contrast="auto"><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW204128929 BCX0">became a trustee of the Asia New Zealand Foundation Te </span><span class="NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2 SCXW204128929 BCX0">Whītau</span><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW204128929 BCX0"> </span><span class="NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2 SCXW204128929 BCX0">Tūhono</span><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW204128929 BCX0"> in October 2021. She</span></span> is an award-winning business and public sector leader, focused on deepening New Zealand’s engagement with the Asia Pacific, and improving outcomes for those with diverse cultures, abilities and experiences. <br />

With nearly 20 years’ experience working in New Zealand and Asia, Ziena consultsâ¯on strategy and stakeholder engagement, andâ¯is a keynote speaker and commentator onâ¯Asia business, nation branding, leadership, and diversity, equity and inclusion. She is a board member of Unitec, Manukau Institute of Technology, DNA Design and the Cancer Society Auckland Northland.</p>
<p><span lang="EN" >“Ziena will bring strong experience and expertise in education, international relations and marketing, which will complement the current ENZ Board well and support its work in the sector going forward,” Education Minister Chris Hipkins said.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN" >Rachael Tuwhangai and Lyn Provost have both been reappointed to the ENZ Board.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN" >“The Board will continue to benefit from Rachel’s digital education experience and Lyn’s expertise in risk, assurance and insights across the education system,” said Hipkins.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN" >Vivien Sutherland Bridgwater has been reappointed to the TEC Board.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN" >“Vivien is an innovative leader and brings a valuable Te Ao Māori perspective to the Board. She continues to support the mahi of TEC through her expertise across various sectors,” Hipkins said.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN" >ENZ is New Zealand&#8217;s government agency for building international education. It promotes New Zealand as a study destination for international students and supports the delivery of education services offshore. Education New Zealand also administers scholarships to help New Zealanders study overseas.</span></p>
