<h2>The success of the expanded Student Job Search (SJS) in enabling New Zealand tertiary graduates to find employment was celebrated at Parliament this month, days before the service also won a major recruitment industry award.</h2>
<p>Since the launch of SJS’s expanded graduate services in March 2021, SJS has sourced 3,742 permanent full-time jobs for students, a 200 percent increase on previous years, 98 grad roles through 11 grad programmes, and increased Māori and Pacific student registrations rates through its services by 14.8 percent.</p>
<p>Up against a number of large corporate recruitment agencies, Student Job Search (SJS) has been recognised for Excellence in Social Purpose with from Australasia’s peak body for the employment industry, the Recruitment, Consulting and Staffing Association of Australia &; NZ (RCSA).</p>
<p>SJS’s contributions to the New Zealand employment landscape have earnt the not-for-profit an award for Excellence in Social Purpose, announced at the RCSA Industry Awards function in Auckland just days after a parlimentary event, hosted by Minister for Social Development and Employment, Hon. Carmel Sepuloni, marked these expanded graduate services.</p>
<p>The Beehive celebration included representatives from across government departments, the education and employment sectors, including Tupu Toa <a class="wpil_keyword_link" href="https://www.schoolnews.co.nz/2015/10/new-chief-executive-for-education-council/" title="Chief Executive" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" target="_blank">Chief Executive</a> Anne Fitisemanu, MSD Deputy Chief Executive Marama Edwards and New Zealand Union of Student Association President Andrew Lessells.</p>
<p>SJS provides pastoral care for graduates looking for that foot in the door and ongoing support. Since 2015, students have earned at least $517,969,739 in wages from work provided through Student <a class="wpil_keyword_link" href="https://www.schoolnews.co.nz/2012/03/born-to-the-job/" title="Job" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" target="_blank">Job</a> Search &#8211; a 2,487 percent return on investment for the Ministry of Social Development. The expanded graduate services will provide SJS a platform to increase these earnings beyond tertiary study.</p>
<p>To carry out their expanded graduate services, SJS has a <a href="https://www.sjs.co.nz/content/permanent-placement-team" target="_blank">new team</a> dedicated to sourcing high quality graduate roles across the country and cross-sector, to easily connect employers looking for talented graduates for their workplace.</p>
