Game of Awesome is designed to appeal to reluctant writers
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">A game designed to inspire reluctant writers has won the Public Good category of the prestigious Best Design Awards.</h4>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Game of Awesome is a card game developed to encourage students in years five to eight, particularly boys, to develop their writing skills. Designed for up to six players, the cards can be used to quickly generate and explore ideas, then expanded into stories. There are many ways to play the game to suit students’ different interests and learning styles.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The game was co-created by the Ministry of Education with students from Wellington’s Te Aro School and St. Patrick’s College as well as teachers from Newtown, Houghton Valley, Korokoro and Kilbirnie Schools.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Game of Awesome is the latest addition to the Success for Boys collection, which also includes <a href="http://success-for-boys.tki.org.nz/Teaching-learning-resources/Story-Starters" target="_blank">Story Starters</a> a video story resource co-designed with year five to eight students in collaboration with Kiwi authors and entertainers such as Bret McKenzie, Dai Henwood and Mike McRoberts. </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The game can be downloaded from the <a href="http://success-for-boys.tki.org.nz/Teaching-learning-resources/Game-of-Awesome" target="_blank">Success for Boys</a> site, and schools can order a limited number of printed card sets from <a href="http://www.thechair.co.nz/servlet/Srv.Ecos_Process_HTML_File?P1=/graphics/moe/signon.htm" target="_blank">Down the Back of the Chair</a>. </p>
