Teachers held in high regard

<h3>New Zealand&&num;8217&semi;s teachers and primary schools continue to enjoy very high levels of confidence and respect&comma; according to UMR Research&&num;8217&semi;s latest Mood of the Nation survey&period;<&sol;h3>&NewLine;<p>Public confidence in primary schools increased by 4 per cent in 2015&comma; with 69 per cent of those surveyed expressing a &&num;8220&semi;great deal&&num;8221&semi; or &&num;8220&semi;quite a lot&&num;8221&semi; of confidence&period; Only general practitioners &lpar;GPs&rpar; rated higher amongst institutions&comma; on 70 per cent&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Teachers came fourth in the occupational respect ratings&comma; with 7&period;97 points on a scale of 0-10&period; Nurses&comma; doctors and the police took the top three places&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>New Zealand Educational Institute &lpar;NZEI&rpar; Te Riu Roa president Louise Green said New Zealand&&num;8217&semi;s teachers were dedicated to ensuring every child reached their potential&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;Schools are the centre of their communities and it&&num;8217&semi;s not surprising that New Zealanders value and trust the educators teaching their children&period; Teachers do a fantastic job&comma; despite increasing challenges and limited resources&comma;&&num;8221&semi; she said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
