International experts headlining educational forum in Wellington

&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;" alignright size-full wp-image-1856" src&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;schoolnewsnz&period;fastrackdev&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2015&sol;10&sol;SND29-WK3-Forum-Logo-new&period;jpg" alt&equals;"SND29-WK3-Forum-Logo-new" style&equals;"margin&colon; 5px&semi; float&colon; right&semi;" width&equals;"307" height&equals;"230" &sol;>New Zealand&&num;8217&semi;s Vocational Education and Training Research Forum got underway yesterday morning in Wellington with the global head of UNESCO&&num;8217&semi;s Youth&comma; Literacy&comma; and Skills Development section and the chief executive of the UK Commission for Employment and Skills headlining a strong programme of plenary and concurrent sessions&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> <&excl;--more--> <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>UNESCO&&num;8217&semi;s Dr Borhène Chakroun &lpar;chief of section&comma; Youth&comma; Literacy&comma; and Skills Development&rpar; will open the forum with a presentation on UNESCO&&num;8217&semi;s vision for vocational education and training&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Day two commences with Michael Davis&comma; chief executive&comma; United Kingdom Commission for Employment and Skills&comma; discussing the UK perspective on achieving Growth Through People&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The forum is New Zealand&&num;8217&semi;s largest event dedicated to research on skills&comma; training&comma; and relationships between education and the labour market&period; Now in its 12th year&comma; the forum has a strong practical focus and emphasises linking the people who research these issues with the people who work in the sector&colon; educators&comma; policymakers&comma; and industry representatives&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Since 2014 the forum has been co-hosted by the Industry Training Federation – New Zealand&&num;8217&semi;s leading representative body for workplace-based learning – and Ako Aotearoa – New Zealand&&num;8217&semi;s National Centre for Tertiary Teaching Excellence&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Go to&colon; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;akoaotearoa&period;ac&period;nz&sol;nzvetrf15" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">www&period;akoaotearoa&period;ac&period;nz&sol;nzvetrf15<&sol;a> for more information&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
